Send press releases overnight
Many editors are "morning people". They come to work, clean their inboxes, and want to begin the day by identifying hot new software applications. Like yours. If you believe that editors are morning people, then make sure your press release is in the editors' inboxes when they come to work.
Schedules are personal, and not related to the editor's field of specialty. It doesn't matter if it's an education editor who is looking for an educational press release for the magazine's blog, or a business writer who needs a news release for a weekly newspaper column.
Send news releases during the day
Wait until the editors have come to work, emptied their inboxes, and had a cup of caffeine. Your press release would arrive in the editors' inboxes while they're settled in at work.
My experience sumbitting press releases
While most people ask me to email their press releases during the afternoon (east coast US time - GMT-5), more and more developers want their press releases sent overnight or over the weekend. I'm happy to submit them any mid-day or evening.

Writing an effective New Product Announcement can be difficult.
You can't send the editors the sales pitch from your website or from your PAD file.
And you can't send them a nice story about your software.
You have to send them a professionally-crafted press release that they can use.
We can help!
