date format
date format - The order of the month, day, and year in a date.
Americans and Europeans use different date formats. To an American or Canadian, 06/10/05 means "June 10, 2005". To a European, 06/10/05 means "October 6, 2005".
It's much safer to spell out the month.
dead link
dead link - A hyperlink on your website that points to a page that does not exist anywhere on the Internet.
The accumulation of dead links is called link rot.
deep link
deep link - A link to any page on your website other than your home page.
demographic
demographic - Attributes about the public such as age, gender, income, and marital status.
The list of demographic factors also includes kids versus no kids, homeowner versus renter, and pet owner.
In Internet marketing, the term "demographics" refers to what web browser your website visitors use, what operating system they have, the screen resolution they're using, and what language they speak. These are the variables that are easy to capture using a web log analysis program.
Kenneth W. Gronbach, author of "The Age Curve - How to Profit from the Coming Demographic Storm," believes that the major changes that we have seen - and will see in the future - in economics, business, and society are due to the size of successive US generations, and the corresponding different number of people in each age group.
Gronbach believes that demography dictates the demand side of the marketing equation. It's important to have a high-quality product, a solid business plan, and a strong marketing budget. But the ebbs and flows of population are going to determine the success of your software development company to a very large extent.
demographic segmentation
demographic segmentation - A form of marketing segmentation in which you target prospects with similar characteristics.
Examples would include targeting teachers in affluent school systems, or targeting highly-educated senior citizens.
density
description metatag
description metatag - An HTML meta-tag that describes your web page.
The description meta tag is one of the fundamental items that you have to pay attention to when you're doing search engine optimization (SEO). The description meta-tag should contain all of the keywords from your title tag. It should be an English-language sentence that describes the page. If possible, include additional keywords that you will also place in your h1 and h2 tags.
