keyword
keyword - A search engine optimization (SEO) term for a word or phrase that you type into a search engine when looking for a page on the web.
It sounds simple - Your website has to contain the words that your software prospects type into the search engines when looking for software like yours.
It is simple - Make each of your web pages keyword rich. And concentrate your search engine optimization work on creating meaningful and unique title tags, description metatags, keywords metatags, and headers (h1 and h2 especially).
keyword density
keyword density - A search engine optimization (SEO) term.
If a keyword appears 20 times on a 400-word page, then the keyword density is five percent. There is no "proper" keyword density for keywords that are important to your site. Just be sure that your text is designed to be read by humans, and not just by the search engines' crawlers.
keyword distribution
keyword distribution - The location of keywords on a web page.
Most search engine optimization (SEO) experts say that keywords that appear near the top of a web page are regarded by the search engines as being particularly important. Some SEO experts say that the search engines notice if keywords are scattered evenly throughout a web page or if they're clumped together. Many SEO experts have too much time on their hands, and spend it speculating how Google's algorithm is constructed.
Again, write for human visitors, and not exclusively for the search engines.
keyword frequency
keyword frequency - The number of times that a keyword appears on a web page.
As part of search engine optimization (SEO), by using a keyword a number of times, you tell the search engines that this keyword is important to this page. By using the keyword too many times, you tell the search engines that you're engaging in a spamming technique called "keyword stuffing." Be sure that your web page is designed to be read by human visitors, and not just by the search engines' crawlers.
keyword prominence
keyword prominence - An SEO measure of how close to the top of your web page your keywords are located.
More accurately, keyword prominence measures how close your machine-readable keywords are to the top of the page.
That's because search engines cannot read or index text that is part of a graphic image.
As part of your search engine optimization, make sure your human visitors and the search engines can find your most important keywords and key phrases.
