Your Marketing Sucks
"Your Marketing Sucks - The Hard-Nosed Guide to Implementing ROI (Return on Investment) Marketing" - A book by Mark Stevens.
Stevens tells us to look at every marketing expenditure, and measure its impact on sales and profits. If it doesn't create more money than it costs, then abandon it, and try something else.
Good software marketing is all about sales.
The author urges us to examine our advertising, sales, and the way that we use our time. Don't hesitate to try new things, no matter how unusual they are. But measure the results, and define success as financial success.
You can read my book review of "Your Marketing Sucks", as well as book reviews of dozens of other business, marketing, sales, and writing books, all from the perspective of the software development industry.
