EZ Macros - The Ultimate Macro Utility

Fort Worth, TX (August 9, 1998) - American Systems announces the release of EZ Macros 4.0, a powerful keyboard macro program for the Windows 95/98/NT platforms, that can increase productivity and save time by making repetitive tasks quick and easy.

EZ Macros can record both keystrokes and mouse movements or macros can be created and edited manually. Common, repetitive tasks can by automated with just a few keystrokes and hundreds of possible macro hot keys are available. EZ Macros features both global and program-specific macros and gives the user the ability the ability to schedule a macro to execute anytime they want. Secure, password protected macros are also available so that only the user can use, edit, schedule, or delete such macros.

EZ Macros has variable macro playback speed, which allows a macro to playback at the speed it was recorded at, slower or faster. Multiple macro files are allowed so users can have separate macros for each member of the family or for different tasks. The new "Type-A-Macro" function lets macros be assigned to an unlimited number of alphanumeric patterns, allowing for the insertion of large bodies of text, launching of programs, and more. EZ Macros can launch your email program or send a prewritten automatic email message across the Internet.

The new "Enter Data" function pauses a macro so the user can insert text, making it excellent for the creation of personalized form letters. Other new features in this version include the ability to import macros from another macro file, user-customizable color macro editor, the ability to run a macro at Windows startup, and macros to restart, reboot, or logoff of Windows. In addition, a greatly expanded repeat function gives users the ability to repeat a macro a specific number of times, forever until it is stopped, or for a specified period of time. A macro progress window is available for long macros and the position of the window is user-configurable. EZ Macros also comes with "LiveUpdate" technology so end-users can always have the most current version.

PC Remote Makes It Easy to Access Other Computers

Fort Worth, TX (June 3, 1999) - American Systems announces the release of PC Remote 1.0, a program for accessing remote computers in a variety of ways. Connections can be made across a LAN, over a modem, using the computer serial ports, and across the Internet.

PC Remote allows end-users to determine who can access their computer and whether or not that person can transfer files back and forth. The system is totally secure, with each user being assigned a username and password. Connection "profiles" can be created so frequently used connections can be established with just a few mouse clicks. The host portion can be automatically loaded when Windows starts, making it easy to access a work computer from home, or a home computer while away on business. One can clearly see everything on the other screen and have full control of the keyboard and mouse.

The end-user can select between image quality and speed, making the product extremely flexible. The data flow can also be paused, while doing other tasks, and then resumed when desired.

On a LAN, it can automatically scan to find other machines running the program and on a modem connection it quickly determines what serial port is being used for making the call.

EZ Macros lets users create macros manually or by recording their keystrokes and mouse movements. The speed of macro playback can be adjusted to optimize performance. TidyDisk can be run as a stand-alone program, but it can also be scheduled to run unattended. Using the free companion program, EZ Scheduler, also from American systems, TidyDisk can be be scheduled to run any time of the day or night.
