Zip Office 98 Adds Power and Flexibility to Zip Archive Management

Atypie Software has released Zip Office 98, a feature-rich Windows 98/95/NT utility that lets you compress, uncompress and manage your files.

Zip Office 98 lets you create new compressed archives as well as add, extract, view, and delete files. In addition to Zip files, it supports all of the popular compression formats, including lha, arc, arj, zoo, uue and many others, without using external programs. You can even convert your compressed files from one compression format to another.

Zip Office 98's Active Zip feature lets you use your day-to-day programs to work on compressed files, and automatically updates those files inside your compressed archives.

Zip Office 98's Virtual Folders let you organize your downloads from the Internet. While your downloads are all stored neatly in the same physical folder, Zip Office 98 lets you define logical folders and sub-folders, so you can keep track of your games, utilities, and other downloads. And if you're using Internet Explorer 4 or newer, Zip Office 98 will keep track of the places on the Internet where you found the files that you've downloaded, allowing you to return to those sites with a single click.

Zip Office 98 gives you access to right-click context menus, allowing you to perform a variety of Zip compression functions directly from other programs. Zip Office 98's Send menu contains all of your Microsoft Explorer Send To menu selections, allowing you to e-mail files directly from Zip Office 98. People who are less familiar with creating and using Zip files will enjoy Zip Office 98's Wizard Assistants.

Programmers who would like to include these file compression functions within their own software can use Zip Office 98's Open API to extract files directly from any application that was built with Access, VB, Delphi or other Windows programming languages.
