Announcing the release of imPRESSion Lite 1.01c and imPRESSion 1.01c for Windows by BNW Systems

CLUJ-NAPOCA, ROMANIA, October 21, 1998 - BNW Systems has released the improved versions 1.01c of imPRESSion Lite and imPRESSion.

The new 1.01c versions offer improved import filters and bug fixes.

imPRESSion Lite and imPRESSion are affordable desktop publishing applications that combine powerful vector graphics drawing with a range of text handling functions. These programs meet both your drawing and text handling needs by enabling you to create professional-looking publications using only one application. They work on all Windows platforms and are useful tools for editing magazines, newsletters, brochures, catalogs, and other documents. Designers and graphic artists also will find them essential.

imPRESSion Lite provides the standard set of desktop publishing features including master page layouts, automatic page numbering, importing of word processing documents in various formats, column balancing, and automatic text flow from one frame to another. It allows you to create different shaped text frames and to automatically route text from one frame to another. imPRESSion Lite supports various font and paragraph styles, bullets, widow and orphan controls, character rotation, drop caps, and scaled characters within a paragraph. This application also allows you to wrap text around or inside any object.

imPRESSion Lite also has excellent drawing capabilities. Its sophisticated vector graphics tools make it easy to create and edit complex illustrations in your document. It also provides excellent tools for integrating these illustrations in your document. The program features a control palette for editing the selected object's properties. It allows you to add and edit special objects such as stars, bubble stars, regular polygons and spirals. imPRESSion Lite includes over 160 gradient shapes whose color variations can be easily controlled. With imPRESSion Lite you can create complex selecting criteria with the object selector roll-up, you can use 3D effects like extrude and lathing and distortion effects such as the spiral, shperize, ripple, and others. imPRESSion Lite offers simple bitmap filters including levels, curves and contrast-brightness, and it allows you to crop a bitmap in any shape.

To increase your productivity, you can record a set of operations and save them in "presets" for one-click use. You can also create new tools and toolbars, and you can customize the keyboard shortcuts and mouse button actions.

imPRESSion Lite provides complete, online help that answers all of your questions.

In addition to these features, the professional version of imPRESSion offers color management for WYSIWYG display of colors, and it supports spot and process color separation functions with trapping options. It also allows the user to create custom kerning tables and tracking functions for fonts. imPRESSion allows you to create new gradient shapes to obtain more eye-catching fountain fills. With imPRESSion you can edit recorded "presets" and create new ones in a dialogue box. These additional functions make it suitable for professional use.
