Lightning Adds Power, Ease to Outlook

Catalyst Innovations has released Lightning for Outlook v. 3.0, an innovative tool that expands your ability to get information into and out of Outlook quickly and effectively. Lightning lives in your Windows system tray, so it's always available with a single click, even if Outlook isn't running.

Lightning understands plain English. Type "Call George Wilson back in 2 weeks", or "Meet with J. Smith 3rd Tues of May at 1:00", and Lightning will create your appointment or task and link it automatically to all of the Contact and Category names that you mentioned.

Lightning provides instant lookup of your contacts. Simply type a name in the textbox - first name, last name (or both, in any order), company name, or nickname; whole or partial words. Lightning retrieves and displays the matching contact's record, or a list of entries to choose from if more than one match is found.

You can use Lightning to maintain shared group calendars and contact lists since you can configure Lightning to use any folder - including any Microsoft Exchange public folder - for each of the standard folder types (Inbox, Contacts, Calendar, Journal, etc.).

Lightning's continuous, rolling calendar can be set to float on top of your other Windows applications. Lightning also lets you quickly call up a Daily Summary window for any date, listing the day's appointments, tasks, and a summary of unread e-mail.

You can drag and drop new contact names to Lightning, and instantly create a new Outlook Contact record for that person. Lightning even checks for duplicates.

Lightning lets you jump to Outlook at any time. You're always a click away from any Outlook folder, or any date in Outlook's Calendar view.

Lightning for Outlook v. 3.0 costs $29.95 and requires a PC running Windows and Microsoft Outlook 97 or 98. A version supporting the Outlook 2000 Preview is also available.
