MILLCARE to the Year 2000 rescue.

Confirm VOF, The Netherlands, has released MILLCARE, a utility that checks and fixes the Year 2000 clock rollover of Personal Computers and Personal Systems/2. MILLCARE, short for Millennium Care, can be used in combination with the operating systems DOS, Windows 3.x, Windows 95 and Windows 98.

The Year 2000 clock rollover test is performed with an easy to use menu driven utility. The function and purpose of each step in the test process is explained clearly to the user.

After a failed rollover test, the user is instructed to install the Millennium Clock Adjust Program. The Millennium Clock Adjust Program re-programs the clock chip of a PC or PS/2 to make it compatible with Year 2000 dates.

The Millennium Clock Adjust program can be installed in either of two ways, as a Terminate and Resident Program or as a program that is initiated once during reboot of the computer.

The Millennium Clock Adjust Program, installed as a TSR, is the smallest in the world that does the job. Only 288 bytes, which is about half the size of other solutions on the market!

Experienced users and system administrators can bypass the menu based part of MILLCARE and use command line options. Using command line options speeds up the test and installation process significantly. All it takes is 10 seconds per PC.

MILLCARE does not require boot floppies and does not require time consuming power off and power on sequences of Pcs. MILLCARE is designed with a speedy process and very low memory requirements in mind.
